Candied Pecans
Ingredients
-1 tablespoon butter
-6 tablespoons granulated sugar
-1 tablespoon light corn syrup
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1 cup pecan halves
Directions
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Sprinkle in the sugar and corn syrup. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and mixture begins to bubble. Once the mixture bubbles, stop stirring and cook until the sugar begins to turn a golden brown. stir in the pecans and salt; once the pecans are well coated, pour them onto greased foil or parchment paper – while the nuts are still warm, use a buttered knife and fork to separate them and turn them right side up, if you wish to use them for garnishes. if you want to have pecan clusters, separate them into clumps of 2 or 3 apiece.
